Registration for 2013 Amerks Summer Hockey Camp Is Now Open

April 4, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced that registration for the 2013 Amerks Summer Hockey Camp is now open. The Amerks Summer Camps, which take place in August, offer on-ice hockey instruction from professional coaches and players for kids ages 5-14 at all different skill levels.

Current Amerks Interim Head Coach Chadd Cassidy, who is now in his second year with the organization after winning multiple medals in international competition during five seasons as a coach with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program (NTDP), and Amerks Assistant Coach Chris Taylor, one of the top scorers in franchise history who played 19 seasons of professional hockey, will once again serve as the head instructors for this year's camp and be joined by a host of other staff members and instructors.

The Amerks Summer Hockey Camp offers children an experience that no other camp in the area can - the opportunity to meet, interact and learn the game of hockey from current and former Amerks playing in the American Hockey League and National Hockey League. The instructors will emphasize skill development while taking time to teach players and will help campers learn to enjoy the game through a variety of fun and challenging drills that can also be applied to game situations.

All sessions of the 2013 Camp will take place at The Sports Centre at MCC. The Full Day Camps are open to players ages 7-14 while the Half Day Camps are open to ages 5-8. The first session for both Full and Half Day camps will take place August 5-9. The second and final session will take place August 26-30.
