Regina Pats News Release


LAST GAME:.........The Pats last action was this past Sunday when they capped a three game in three day weekend with a 2-1 win over the Blades at Sask Place.......the Pats took three of a possible six points following a loss Friday to Swift Current and an overtime tie with the Raiders in PA on Saturday night.....Paul Albers (3) opened the scoring for the Pats in the first period.....Lance Morrison (10) scored the game winner shorthanded in the second period......Dustin Slade recorded his first win in goal as a Pat making 26 saves.......

PATS VERSUS HITMEN:.......Tonight is the first visit of the Hitmen to Regina since October 3rd....that night the Pats prevailed by a score of 4-1....since then the Hitmen have taken two games in Calgary, one 6-0 and the second 3-2 in OT........

PAT CHAT.......Defenseman Andrew Desousa enters tonight's game five short of 300 career WHL games.....Rick Rypien leads the Pats in points (32) and PIM (136)......defenseman Craig Lineker has returned to Calgary to rehab his back injury which is expected to keep him out for the remainder of the season.........

UPCOMING GAMES....The Pats will be back in action at the ‘Dome on Sunday when the Swift Current Broncos return for the second time in just over two weeks... ......

JOSH HARDING/COOPERATORS SAVES FOR A CURE PROGRAM:......This season Josh Harding is personally donating $1.00 for every save he makes to the Caring Hearts Camp for Children. The Cooperators are donating $1.00 for every save made by Regina Pats goaltenders, an amount that will be matched by the Pats.....thus far the season total is at $3,836.

PATS IN THE PRO'S.......Former Pat and Meadow Lake, Sk product, Jeff Friesen scored his 200th NHL goal Tuesday night in the New Jersey Devils 3-0 win over Lorne Molleken and the Pittsburgh Penguins...........

PATS PROSPECT WATCH:...... Forward Ryan McDonald of the Prince Albert Mintos Midget AAA team has moved into the top 15 in league scoring with 33 points in 31 games and is fourth in PIM with 74.......
