Lexington County, S.C. (July 14, 2015) -- The Lexington County Blowfish held an early lead thanks to a solo home run by J.D. Crowe (Francis Marion), but the Florence RedWolves battled back with a steady stream of offense to win by a final score of 11-2 on Tuesday night.

Crowe's home run, his seventh of the year, put the Blowfish up 1-0 in the second inning. He showed no rust coming off of his experience at the Home Run Derby on Sunday night.

Florence's Ben Holland knocked home six runs with a two-run single in the third inning, a two-run home run in the fifth inning, and a two-run double in the seventh inning. He fell a triple short of the cycle on this night. Holland also scored twice.

Ray Lanners also pushed home three RedWolves runs, driving in a run on a fielding error, and a two-run double. He would also score a run.

Florence totaled runs in five straight innings.

Lexington County tacked on a late run. Austin Garcia (Bethune-Cookman) kept his hitting streak alive when he smashed an RBI single to score Crowe from second base. Florence had already established a sizable lead that proved too much to overcome on this night.

Garcia finished the night 2-for-3 at the plate. Crowe went 3-for-5.

Opportunities were missed for both sides. Florence left 15 men on base in contrast to Lexington County's 11 left on. The Blowfish had runners in scoring position during the second, third, fourth and fifth innings. Most importantly, they left the bases loaded in the fifth.

A combination of James Walsh, Brandon Cook and Daniel Barfield shut the Blowfish down during important situations. Florence pitching struck out nine batters, ending the inning on strikeouts four times.

The Blowfish will return to action on July 15, when they travel to play the Wilmington Sharks for a 7:05 p.m. start. Experience all of the action with a live radio broadcast on Z93.1 FM The Lake starting at 6:50 p.m.

They will return home to face the Fayetteville SwampDogs on Friday, July 17.
