The RedWolves announce the signing of Tony Micklon a 6-1, 190-pound Jr OF from Presbyterian College, Micklon is a Sumter native and Wil Leathers a 5-8, 160 Fr INF from the University of South Carolina.
Tony is a big strong kid who could bat in the middle of our order. I look for Tony to drive in a lot of runs for the Redwolves this summer.
Wil is slick fielding middle infielder from South Carolina. Wil will see time in our infield throughout the summer. I see Wil being a very solid defender for the Redwolves.
HOST FAMILIES STILL NEEDED - With the start of the season just over two weeks away, the RedWolves are still in need of families for the 2011 players and coaches. If your family is interested in hosting for the summer, please call the RedWolves office at 629-0700 for more information.
Summer Camp Sign Up - The RedWolves annual summer camp will be the week of June 20th for ages 6-15 at a cost of $80 per camper. You can download the entry form off the RedWolves website or go by All Star Sports and pick up a form.
RedWolves Late Game - On Friday July 22nd the RedWolves home game will begin at 10pm in conjunction with the 10th anniversary season for the Barth Family owning the team. Gates will open at 6:30 with many activities for everyone prior to the start of the game. There will be a pre game concert, game tournaments in the Dick's Sporting Goods Grown Ups Playground area and many other activities. "A couple of teams in our league played a midnight madness game last summer and it was a huge success. They had a big crowd and it was something unique and different to do and the fans really enjoyed it. We wanted to do something similar, but we decided to start at 10pm instead of midnight to correlate with the 10th anniversary season for the Barth's. We hope the fans will come out for this outside the box opportunity and have a great time at the ballpark."
