RedWolves Add Two More Games to 2013 Schedule

The Florence RedWolves have agreed to play two games against teams from the CVCL summer collegiate league during the 2013 season. Both games will be played at Sparrow Stadium at Francis Marion University. On June 22nd the RedWolves will play the Catawba Valley Stars and July 6th will play the Winston Salem Crushers, both game times will be at 7:30pm. This will make a 30 home game schedule for the team during the regular season.
"The Coastal Plain League has played several games over the last few years against teams from the CVCL and it has worked as a good partnership for both leagues. The CVCL teams look to play as many games as they can each summer and don't mind traveling to CPL parks to pick up the extra games. It is very beneficial to us to have more home games to provide opportunities for our fans to come out and it gives our business partners more exposure to our fan base during the season. The way our schedule laid out for 2013, we had to open Saturday dates, so these games will fill those dates and give our fans two more weekend games to attend." Jamie Young, GM
The Florence RedWolves are a member of the Coastal Plain League and will be entering the 16th year of baseball in Florence. The Coastal Plain League is the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 17th season in 2013, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Further more,the CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 57 alums - including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
