FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks scored eight runs in the first two innings and rode a stellar spot start from RHP Matt Mossey to earn a 15-7 win before 3,536 fans in the Sunday matinee at Newman Outdoor Field. Mossey (2-0) pitched 8.0 innings of work giving up one unearned run for his second win of the season.

The first RedHawks hit of the game was a lead-off solo home run from RF Mike Coles. SS Zach Penprase hit a seeing-eye single, stole second and scored on CF Nic Jackson's single to center. C Alan Rick homered for the third time in as many games and the RedHawks batted around to rock Goldeyes starter RHP Ace Walker for a six-run first inning.

The Goldeyes benefited from a booted ball by RedHawks 3B Jeremiah Piepkorn to get on the board in the second inning. Jackson singled and Piepkorn doubled to make it 7-1 in the home half of the first inning. The RedHawks would add three runs in the seventh inning and 2B Carlo Cota capped the scoring with a three-run big fly in the eighth inning for a 15-1 lead. Cota finished the game with six RBIs, a season high for RedHawks batters. The Goldeyes scored six runs in the top of the ninth to end the scoring.

The RedHawks have an off-day Monday before opening a six-game home stand against the Joliet JackHammers and Schaumburg Flyers July 21st - July 26th. The RedHawks will start RHP Yosandy Ibanez on Tuesday.
