RedHawks Sign Wright; Activate Englebrook

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks made a series of roster moves on Monday ahead of a seven-game homestand that start with four games against North Division rival Winnipeg. The RedHawks signed C Zach Wright, activated RHP Evan Englebrook from the disabled list and released RHP Mike Noteware, INF Anthony Renz and C Mike Schultz.

Wright, 25, joins the RedHawks after being released last week by the Los Angeles Angels organization. He appeared in 34 games for the Arkansas Travelers of the Texas League (Double-A), where he hit .137 with three doubles, two home runs, five RBIs and 11 runs scored. Wright threw out 39 percent (13-of-33)of would-be base-stealers and committed just one error in 31 games behind the plate.

Wright was selected by the Angels in the 12th round of the 2012 draft out of East Carolina University. In three-plus seasons in the Angels organization, he batted .243 with 39 doubles, four triples, 25 home runs, 113 RBIs and 135 runs scored in 273 games.

Englebrook has appeared in two games for the RedHawks this season before a leg injury sidelined him for two weeks. He is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 2.0 innings pitched. He has not allowed a hit and struck out two batters.

Noteware was 1-3 with a 7.07 ERA in 18 relief appearances for the RedHawks this season. Renz and Schultz where both signed by the RedHawks on the most recent road trip. Renz was 2-for-13 with two walks and five strikeouts in four games. Schultz was 0-for-6 in three games with two strikeouts.
