METAIRIE—RedHawks starter Ryan Snare (1-0) made the Zephyrs march to the beat of his drum on Friday night, allowing only four hits, while striking out four in his Triple A debut Friday night at the "Shrine on Airline". Former Zephyr C.J. Nitkowski picked up his second save of the season pitching three innings, as well as striking out four Z's and improving the RedHawks record to 50-50 and dropping the Z's to a 53-46 season record.

The RedHawks took a 1 to 0 lead in the top of the third when Jeff Pickler doubled in the right center field gap to score Jermaine Clark. The Zephyrs only scoring opportunity came in the fifth as the Z's put runners on first and second with two outs. Second Baseman Dave Matranga singled to left and RedHawks Left fielder Jermaine Clark delivered a perfect strike to Catcher Gerald Laird who applied the tag and held on as Eric Cole lowered his shoulder and plowed him over. The RedHawks scored another run in the ninth when Jeff Pickler singled to right center to pick up his second RBI of the night. Zephyrs starter Jared Fernandez (6-9) pitched eight and two-thirds innings in the losing cause allowing two runs on seven hits.

The series with the RedHawks continues on Saturday at 6:05 PM. The first 2,000 fans with paid adult admission receive a baseball cap courtesy of Benjamin Moore and Helm Paint.
