Metairie, LA – The New Orleans Zephyrs, the Class AAA Pacific Coast League Affiliate of the Houston Astros are pleased to announce that former LSU star Randy Keisler has been signed by the Astros and will be assigned to the Zephyrs.

Keisler, 27 from Richards, Texas, pitched on the 1998 Tigers squad that advanced to the College World Series and has a 2-3 career Major League record with a 7.62 ERA (57ER/67.1 IP). He has 16 appearances with the New York Yankees (2000, 2001) and San Diego Padres (2002). Keisler was originally selected by the Yankees in the second round of the 1998 draft. He started two games for the Padres this season and has a 5-3 record with a 4.00 ERA (12ER/54IP) with Oklahoma and Portland in the Pacific Coast League in 2003.

The Zephyrs continue a four game series with the Oklahoma RedHawks on Friday at 7:05 PM. Friday is Free Car Friday courtesy of Bohn Brothers Toyota and Coca Cola with Post Game Fireworks. Jared Fernandez (6-8, 4.01) is scheduled to start for the Zephyrs and Ryan Snare (0-0, 0.00) for the RedHawks.
