RedHawks Announce 2010 Exhibition Schedule

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have scheduled a nine-game exhibition schedule to prepare the team for defense of their Northern League Championship, the club announced today.

The RedHawks will play their first seven exhibition games on the road, including a five-game road-trip against three opponents from the American Association. Fargo-Moorhead will open pre-season play with a game against the Sioux City Explorers on Friday, May 7 before traveling to Lincoln to play the Saltdogs for three games from May 8-10. The RedHawks will wrap up the road trip with a game against the Sioux Falls Pheasants on May 11.

Following two off days, the RedHawks will make a trip north of the border to face the Winnipeg Goldeyes for a pair of game on May 14-15. The Goldeyes will then visit Newman Outdoor Field on May 16-17 for a pair of 6:00 p.m. games.

The RedHawks open the 2010 regular season, the club's 15th in the Northern League, against the Joliet JackHammers on Friday, May 21 at 7:02 p.m. at Newman Outdoor Field. The entire 2010 schedule can be found online at www.fmredhawks.com.

REDHAWKS RE-ACQUIRE MOSSEY; SIGN KREBS

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have re-acquired RHP Matt Mossey from the Kalamazoo Kings of the Frontier League for two players to be named later and have signed INF Paul Krebs to a contract, the Northern League club announced.

Mossey, 24, was 4-3 with a 5.40 ERA and one save for the RedHawks in 2009, his first season as a professional. He appeared in 32 games (nine starts) and pitched 86.2 innings. Mossey allowed 58 runs (52 earned) on 94 hits, struck out 48 batters and walked 40. In the playoffs, Mossey started Game 4 of the First Round series against the Winnipeg Goldeyes. He allowed one run on seven hits in 4.0+ innings pitched.

Mossey was selected this fall in the Northern League Expansion Draft by the Lake County Fielders. He was later traded to Kalamazoo in a multi-player deal before the RedHawks made a deal to bring him back to Fargo-Moorhead.

Krebs, 23, completed his college career last spring at the University of Minnesota-Crookston. In 2009, Krebs batted.305 with four doubles, two triples, three home runs, 27 RBIs and 34 runs scored in 48 games for the Golden Eagles. In 2008, he batted.267 with seven doubles, one triple, three home runs, 11 RBIs and 25 runs scored in 35 games.
