OTTAWA - The Ottawa REDBLACKS today announced that as part of their Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) appreciation game this Thursday, July 25th, there will be a fly past by two CH146 Griffon Helicopters at approximately 7:00 PM. The helicopters will fly over The Stadium at TD Place from east to west during the final bars of the Canadian National Anthem and then head south to the Ottawa International Airport. Flight crews for the helicopters are with the 427 Special Operations Aviation Squadron out of Petawawa, Ontario.

This will be the first time a REDBLACKS CAF Appreciation Game features a helicopter fly past. In previous seasons, the Forces has utilized CF-18 jets and C-130 Hercules Transport planes. Other elements in the game day presentation will include a Flag Party from the Canadian Army's Royal Canadian Dragoon regiment, an anthem singer (David Grenon) from the Royal Canadian Airforce Band and a special appearance by the head of the Royal Canadian Navy, Vice-Admiral Art MacDonald.

Canadian Armed Forces Appreciation games are held in all CFL cities to provide fans with an opportunity to cheer their support for the men and women who serve our country at home and abroad. Hundreds of CAF members will be in the crowd on Thursday as guests of the REDBLACKS.
