
RedBlacks Acquire 12th Overall Pick in CFL Draft from Elks

OTTAWA - The Ottawa REDBLACKS have acquired the 12th overall pick in the 2023 CFL Draft from the Edmonton Elks, today, in exchange for the rights to 2022 draftee, National linebacker Woodly Appolon.
The full trade breakdown is as follows.
TO OTTAWA
2023 Second Round, 12th overall pick (Hamilton)
TO EDMONTON
Rights to National LB Woodly Appolon
With the acquisition, the REDBLACKS now own three picks in the second round, six through the first three rounds, and 10 overall: the most of any team in the CFL.
Appolon was drafted in the fifth round, 40th overall, by Ottawa in 2022. The Montreal, Quebec native appeared in nine games with Tuskegee, posting 10 tackles.
