Memphis Redbirds News Release
MEMPHIS, TN - The Memphis Redbirds will host their first postseason game in nine years on Friday as they continue their opening-round series of the Pacific Coast League playoffs.
The 'Birds opened the five-game series with a win on Wednesday, giving the squad a one-game lead over Albuquerque heading into game two on Thursday. The third game of the series moves to Memphis as AutoZone Park hosts its first postseason game since Albert Pujols' walk-off home run to clinch the franchise's first and only PCL championship in 2000. If necessary, games four and five of the series will also be played at AZP on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13.
The 'Birds celebrate the Memphis Grizzlies signing of 10-time NBA All-Star Allen Iverson by offering A.I. Night. Any Redbirds fan who shares the same initials as Memphis' newest Grizzly can show an I.D. at the Box Office window and receive a free ticket to Friday's game.
The Club Playoff Special is also available for Friday and can be purchased at the Box Office or online at memphisredbirds.com. The package includes a club level ticket and a buffet-style dinner for $35, with dinner served from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
