Red Wings Re-Sign Francis Pare

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday re-signed right wing Francis Pare to a two-year contract.

Pare, 24, was the only member of the Griffins to appear in all 80 games last season, when he ranked among the club's leaders with 24 goals (T2nd), 30 assists (3rd), 54 points (T3rd), four game-winning goals (T2nd), seven first goals (1st) and 18 power play assists (T1st). He established pro career highs for goals (tied), assists and points.

After playing 220 games over three seasons in Grand Rapids, the Lemoyne, Quebec, native stands among the franchise's all-time leaders with 64 goals (8th), 77 assists (T9th), 141 points (8th), 10 game-winning goals (T8th), 12 first goals (T6th), five unassisted goals (T8th) and 515 shots (8th). Only five other players rank among the Griffins' top 10 all time in each of the three major scoring categories (goals, assists and points): Matt Ellis, Jiri Hudler, Derek King, Kip Miller and Michel Picard.

In addition, Pare is the only player to lead the Griffins in plus/minus in two different seasons, much less consecutive campaigns, after earning a plus-23 rating in 2008-09 and a plus-19 rating in 2009-10.
