Red Wings Assign Helm To Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday assigned center Darren Helm to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

Helm played in two games with the Wings since his Oct. 16 recall, recording three shots while averaging 7:58 of ice time. He earned one assist during his lone game with the Griffins thus far, their season-opening 4-3 overtime loss at Lake Erie on Oct. 11.

Helm will rejoin Grand Rapids at practice tomorrow and is expected to play in the Griffins' home opener this Saturday, Oct. 25 against the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7 p.m.
