Salem RidgeYaks News Release
Salem, VA (May 8, 2013) - The middle game of Salem's three-game series against Carolina, scheduled for Wednesday morning, has officially been postponed because of rain in the Roanoke Valley. The two clubs will square off in a doubleheader on Thursday, with a pair of seven-inning games beginning at 5:30 PM.
Gates will open at 5 PM on Thursday night, a Big Bang Thursday featuring dollar beers. Fans can use their tickets for Wednesday's game on Thursday or can exchange them for any other game during the 2013 season.
Winners of three straight, the Salem Sox prevailed 6-4 in the series opener against Carolina on Tuesday, with Garin Cecchini's two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth breaking a four-all tie. Matty Ott retired the side in order in the top of the ninth to earn the victory on the mound.
After Thursday's double-dip, the Sox will hit the road for their next seven games, with trips to Myrtle Beach and Carolina.
