In The Middle of The Night: The Sox made it back-to-back dra- matic victories with their 8-4, 15th inning triumph on Friday night in Lynchburg in a game that ended just before mid- night. The Red Sox offense compiled a season-high 17 hits, while the pitching staff struck out a season-best 19 batters.
For the Longest Time: Friday evening's Sox-Cats game was the longest Carolina League Contest of the season, both in terms of innings and time of game. Salem finally prevailed after four hours and 43 minutes in the 15th inning.
Got to Begin Again: Salem and Lynchburg reunite on Satur- day night at City Stadium. Seth Garrison, 3-1 with a 1.44 ERA since the break, makes the start for the Red Sox.
