PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws and Quirk Chevrolet will team up tomorrow night to "Stuff the Truck" with nonperishable food items. Quirk Chevrolet is the presenting sponsor of the Maine Red Claws. Fans attending the Red Claws game vs. the Idaho Stampede Thursday night are encouraged to donate canned or other nonperishable food items. Volunteers from the Good Shepherd Food-Bank will be on hand to collect the items and will also conduct a 50/50 raffle during the game.

"The Maine Red Claws are dedicated to doing our part, not just now during the holidays but throughout the year," said Red Claws President and General Manager Jon Jennings. "We are proud to join with Quirk Chevrolet and with the Good Shepherd Food-Bank to insure that all Mainers have the food they need."

The donations will be collected in the Maine Red Claws 2011 Chevy Silverado pick-up truck, provided by Quirk Chevrolet, which will be parked in front of the arena. All fans making a donation will be entered to win great Red Claws and Quirk Chevrolet prizes. This is the second annual food drive for Good Shepherd by the Red Claws and culminates a month-long donation drive held at Quirk Chevrolet, located at 1000 Brighton Avenue in Portland.

"This holiday season Chevrolet decided it wanted to give back to the community in a special way. All of the Maine Chevy Dealers give back to their local communities all year long, but the "Chevy Giving More Event" was special," said Jack Quirk, President of Quirk Chevrolet in Portland. "The Maine Chevy dealers decided to align themselves Good Shepherd Food-Bank with a food drive that started on November 15 and ends today. Our customers and employees have been very enthusiastic in donating can goods and non-perishables to stuff the 2011 Chevy Silverado in our showroom, and we thought what better place to end the campaign than at a Red Claws game."
