Red Claws Edged in OT of Game 1

FORT WAYNE, IN - April 7, 2015 - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, had a chance to win their first ever playoff game, but Romero Osby's shot was blocked at the buzzer - Fort Wayne escaped with a 104-103 overtime victory to take Game 1 of the NBA Development League Playoffs.

Game 2 of the best-of-three series is this Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Portland Expo. If Maine wins, a decisive Game 3 will be Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at the Expo.

The Red Claws led for the majority of the game. They held a 5-point lead at halftime, and led by as many as 15 points in the second half. The Mad Ants chipped away, out-scoring Maine 23-16 in the 4th quarter. With the game tied at 100, both teams had a shot to win it in regulation. The Red Claws failed to inbound the ball, and the Mad Ants missed a shot at the buzzer.

In overtime, Maine took a 103-102 lead on an Omari Johnson three. Matt Bouldin made a driving layup to put the Mad Ants up by one. After a timeout and a foul, Osby's driving attempt was blocked, and Fort Wayne won the game.

Osby led the Claws with 24 points and 10 rebounds, and Omari Johnson finished with a strong 21 points and 17 boards off the bench. James Young, on assignment from the Boston Celtics, finished with 17 points. Chris Babb and Davion Berry each scored 15 for Maine.

Jordan Crawford led Fort Wayne with 28 points on 11-28 shooting and 11 rebounds. C.J. Fair also finished with a career-high 28 points.
