
Red Bulls Look to Improve Playoff Positioning in Regular-Season Finale

HARRISON, NJ (October 25, 2014) - The New York Red Bulls look to improve its playoff positioning on Sunday night when they close out the regular season at Sporting Park against Sporting Kansas City.
Kickoff is set for 8:30 PM ET with ESPN2 televising the game nationally. New York can still finish as high as third place in the Eastern Conference with a win on Sunday and Columbus Crew loss against Philadelphia. New York is currently alone in fifth place in the East while Sporting Kansas City is in third place.

New York returns to the postseason for the 11th time in 12 seasons and is coming off a 3-1 loss against the Columbus Crew on October 19 at Red Bull Arena. The Red Bulls are 5-2-1 in their last eight matches.
MLS Golden Boot leader Bradley Wright-Phillips enters Sunday's match just two goals shy of the MLS single-season record after scoring his 25th goal against Toronto FC on October 11. The forward has one regular-season game remaining to tie or break the record of 27 goals set by Roy Lassiter in 1996 and Chris Wondolowski in 2012.
Sunday marks the third and final regular-season meeting between the two clubs this season. New York earned a 2-1 win at Red Bull Arena on September 6 in the most recent match.
