
Red Bulls Announce Tryout Dates for Academy Teams

SECAUCUS, NJ (Tuesday, December 19, 2006) - Red Bull New York announced today that the Red Bulls Youth Academy will host tryouts for the upcoming 2007 season for the following age groups: Under-14, Under-15, Under-16 and Under-18.
"I am very proud of the work we have done so far and I hope the Academy keeps on progressing. We have a group of coaches with a lot of experience and success in their respective soccer careers," said Director of Youth Soccer and Player Development Giovanni Savarese. "Through the tryouts, I'm sure in 2007, we'll be able to incorporate new talent and make our teams stronger."
Each team will compete in a number of local and national competitions throughout the year, including the United Soccer League's Super Y-League, which is recognized as one of the top youth soccer leagues in North America. At the Super Y-League finals last November, Red Bull New York qualified three teams (U-14, U-15, U-17) into the season-ending tournament for the first time in its history, with the U-14s making it all the way into the final.
The tryouts will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the Giants Stadium practice bubble. The times are below:
Under-14 Academy Team (Players born on Aug. 1, 1992 or later) - 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Under-15 Academy Team (Players born on Aug. 1, 1991 or later) - 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Under-16 Academy Team (Players born on Aug. 1, 1990 or later) - 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Under-18 Academy Team (Players born on Aug. 1, 1988 or later) - 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
