Green Bay Blizzard News Release
After a record breaking rookie season in the Indoor Football League, DB Arkeith Brown (6'0", 185) was poised to take the next step in his career. Monday marked the opening of free agency in the Arena Football League, and Brown was among the first group of players to be signed, as he will be joining the Arizona Rattlers for the 2012 season. He is the 2nd Blizzard player to sign an AFL contract this season after DB Josh Jones (5'10", 190) signed with the Utah Blaze earlier this month. Arizona is adding Brown to an already talented roster that made it to the AFL Championship game in 2011.
A Texas A&M product, Brown spent time with the Saints in 2009, participating in their rookie minicamp. As a member of the Blizzard in 2011, Arkeith impressed in his first year, earning both First Team All-IFL, as well as Defensive Rookie of the Year and led the league in interceptions with 12. That mark would also serve to tie the Blizzard single season record, matching Rusty Midlam's mark of 12 in the 2008 campaign. Brown also recorded 67 total tackles and 23 pass break-ups.
The Green Bay Blizzard are proud members of the Indoor Football League (IFL) and were named the 2011 IFL Franchise of the Year. The reigning Great Lakes Division Champions play all their home games at the Resch Center in Green Bay, WI. 2012 Season tickets are on SALE NOW, call 920-405-1264 to reserve your seat in the action!
