
Nathan Barnett Joins Reading Express Receiving Corps

Reading, Pa. (September 27, 2011) - The Reading Express have signed wide receiver Nathan Barnett for the 2012 season. Barnett, a Southern California native, joins a solid receiving corps that currently includes Paul Shaughnessy and Sherrod Evers.
Barnett was a two-year starter at Rocky Mountain College in Billings Mont. After transferring from Texas A&M-Commerce. At Rocky Mountain College, he amassed 125 receptions for 1,661 yards and 20 touchdowns. In addition to receiving duties, Barnett also returned kickoffs, punts and rushed the football. In 2010, Barnett was named first team All-Frontier Conference at wide receiver. He also participated in the NAIA All-Star Game earlier this year in Salina, Kan.
"Nate is an extremely intelligent football player who understands the game," said Mark Steinmeyer, head coach of the Reading Express. "He has the unique ability to find a hole in the defense and exploit it. Nate will bring consistency and depth to our roster"
The Reading Express are one of the most established franchises in indoor football. In six full seasons, the team has amassed an overall record of 73-27 with five division championships, two conference titles and the 2009 AIFA National Championship. In 2011, Reading began play as a new member of the Indoor Football League and captured the league's Atlantic Division title. The team plays on The Reading Hospital Medical Group Field at Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa.
