KEARNEY, NE - The Omaha Lancers edged the Tri-City Storm in overtime at the Viaero Center on Sunday evening. The Storm deleted a two-goal deficit in the final period to force over time.

Late into the first period, Logan Will (17:48) sniped the puck past Isiah Saville to get the Lancers on the board. Will collected the puck at the circle from Brian Silver to beat Saville. The Lancers kept the 1-0 lead going into the first intermission.

In the second period and on the power-play, Jaxon Nelson (11:54) got the Lancers ahead by two. Brendan Furry sent puck below the goal line to Jan Kern who then threw it to the crease where Nelson tipped it in past Saville. The Lancers held the 2-0 lead into the third period.

The Lancers held off the Storm for most of the third period, but Tri-City broke the shutout on a power play goal from Filip Forsmark (13:22). With time winding down, the Storm evened the game 2-2 with another power-play goal. The game then went to an extra frame.

In the overtime period, Kalle Eriksson (1:11) netted his first USHL goal to give the Lancers a 3-2 win over the Storm. Purpura stopped 31 of the 33 Tri-City shots to record his win of the season. The Lancers improve to 3-4-0-0 with 6 points.

The Lancers return to the ice on Friday, October 26th to face the Tri-City Storm. Puck drop is set for 7:35 pm and all of the action can be heard on KOIL News Talk 1290 AM and HockeyTV.com.
