REAL SALT LAKE TO HOST D.C. UNITED ON SATURDAY AT RIO TINTO STADIUM

Real Salt Lake will return home on Saturday night, when it hosts Eastern Conference foe D.C. United in a 2013 U.S. Open Cup Final rematch at 8:00 p.m. MT at Rio Tinto Stadium. Saturday's game will be broadcast live on ABC 4, ESPN 700 AM and 102.3 La Gran D FM.

The two sides last met in the 2013 U.S. Open Cup Final held at Rio Tinto Stadium on Oct. 1, 2013. The Claret-and-Cobalt suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss that night, unable to overcome a 45th minute goal scored by D.C. United MF Lewis Neal. RSL controlled the run of play throughout the match, but couldn't turn its possession into a goal, hitting the woodwork twice to drop the club's first Open Cup Final.

RSL enters Saturday's match coming off a 1-0 win at Colorado Rapids on Aug. 2 that secured the Rocky Mountain Cup for the Claret-and-Cobalt for the seventh time since 2006. RSL remains second in the Western Conference with 9-4-9 record and total of 36 points.

RSL is even against D.C. United in its all-time series, posting a 6-6-4 record against the Eastern Conference side. In last year's regular season meeting, Real Salt Lake fell 1-0 at RFK Stadium in its second match of 2013. The last time the two clubs met in Utah, RSL pulled off a 1-0 win on Sept. 1, 2012 at Rio Tinto Stadium. The Claret-and-Cobalt has been successful at home against D.C. United, posting a 6-1-1 regular season record in the Beehive state.

D.C. United enters Saturday's match coming off a 1-0 loss at Houston Dynamo on Sunday. D.C. United currently sits second in the Eastern Conference with an 11-6-4 record and total of 37 points.

A very limited number of tickets to the RSL-D.C. match remain. Tickets can be purchased at the Rio Tinto Stadium box office, online at www.RealSaltLake.com/Tickets or over the phone at 801-727-2700.

REAL SALT LAKE DEFEATS COLORADO RAPIDS 1-0 AT DICK'S SPORTING GOODS PARK

Real Salt Lake (9-4-9, 36 points, West #2), reclaimed the Rocky Mountain Cup on Saturday night, defeating Colorado Rapids (8-8-6, 30 points, West #5) 1-0 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

Real Salt Lake took the lead early through MF Javier Morales in the 14th minute, for his sixth goal of the year. The Claret-and-Cobalt was dealt a blow at the start of the second half with DF Aaron Maund receiving a straight red card in the 46th minute to reduce RSL to 10 men. The visiting side was able to weather the storm though and record its first win in Colorado since 2007. The victory was also a historic one for RSL GK Nick Rimando, who tied the MLS all-time shutout record with his 112th clean sheet.

Real Salt Lake went on to take the lead through Morales four minutes later. The play started with a fantastic slide tackle by RSL DF Chris Wingert to win the ball away from Rapids DF Marvell Wynne in the final third. The left back quickly played the ball into the middle of the box for Morales who finished a fantastic right footed shot to the near post from 12 yards out.

The second half did not start well for the Claret-and-Cobalt with RSL's Maund receiving a straight red card one minute into the start of the second 45. Colorado MF Dillon Serna was able to win the ball from Maund in the attacking third playing the ball to MF Vincente Sanchez on the breakaway. Maund managed to recover but in his effort clipped the feet of Sanchez just outside the 18 yard box, taking the down the Uruguayan who was in a one-on-one situation with Rimando. Maund was shown the straight red for denying the goal scoring opportunity, reducing the Claret-and-Cobalt to 10 men for the rest of the match. RSL was forced into a defensive substitution with RSL DF Carlos Salcedo entering the match for Sandoval.

Rimando earned his historic clean sheet with an incredible stop in the 94th minute. Colorado's Brown tried his luck from distance firing a shot from 20 yards out that forced a diving save from Rimando. The veteran "˜keeper couldn't hold onto the shot however but got to his feet quickly to corral the ball before a Rapids player could get the follow up chance.

Real Salt Lake will return to MLS action this Saturday, when it hosts D.C. United in a 2013 U.S. Open Cup Final rematch at 8:00 p.m. MT at Rio Tinto Stadium. Saturday's match will be broadcast on ABC 4, ESPN 700 and 102.3 La Gran D FM. Tickets to the RSL-D.C. match can be purchased at the Rio Tinto Stadium box office, online at www.realsaltlake.com/Tickets or over the phone at 801-727-2700.

REAL SALT LAKE RESERVES DRAW COLORADO RESERVES 2-2 AT DSG PARK

The Real Salt Lake Reserves (1-1-4, 7 points) drew Colorado Rapids Reserves (2-2-2, 8 points) 2-2 on Sunday at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. After going down 2-0 in the first half, the Claret-and-Cobalt staged a second half comeback with RSL FW Benji Lopez scoring twice in the 57th and 63rd minutes to earn the draw.

Colorado opened up the scoring in the 16th minute on the counter. The play started with Colorado MF Davy Armstrong who found FW Charles Eloundou open at the top of the box. Eloundou's shot from distance took a strong deflection inside the area leaving RSL GK Jeff Attinella with no chance, to put the home side up by one.

Colorado went on to make it 2-0 in the 36th minute. Rapids DF Thomas Piermayr won the ball at the midfield and played a perfect pass to Eloundou on the breakaway. The Cameroonian notched his second of the night, deftly chipping the ball past an onrushing Attinella to double Colorado's lead.

Real Salt Lake managed to pull one back in the 57th minute. The Rapids turned the ball over 30 yards from goal, and RSL MF Sebastian Velasquez dribbled toward goal, finding MF Luke Mulholland, who drew Colorado GK John Berner out before passing to Lopez who simply tapped the ball into the net.

Real Salt Lake found the equalizer six minutes later through Lopez again. The goal came amid confusion on the field, as most players assumed that play had been stopped. Rapids MF John Neeskens was down on the field with an injury after a hard tackle, and after a foul was called seconds later, both teams slowed to a halt as the players expected the Athletic Training staff to be allowed on the field to attend to Neeskens. However, the referee allowed play to continue, and RSL MF Sebastian Saucedo played the quick restart to Lopez, who drilled a shot from 25 yards past Colorado's Berner.

The Real Salt Lake Reserves will return to action on Aug. 27 when its faces LA Galaxy II at StubHub Center at 4:00 p.m. MT.

REAL SALT LAKE ANNOUNCES THAT ASSISTANT COACH PAUL DALGLISH WILL NO LONGER REMAIN WITH THE CLUB

Real Salt Lake announced on Monday that Assistant Coach Paul Dalglish will no longer remain with the club after accepting the head coach and technical director position at his former club, now USL PRO's Austin Aztex.

Real Salt Lake has begun its search for a new assistant coach, and expects to hire one before the end of the week.

"We are happy for Paul and his family to get this opportunity that he just couldn't say no to. We appreciate his work with us the last eight months and wish him the best in his new adventure," said RSL General Manager Garth Lagerwey.

Dalglish spent eight months with the Claret-and-Cobalt after being named to Head Coach Jeff Cassar's coaching staff in January 2014. In his time with the Claret-and-Cobalt, the Glasgow native helped RSL go undefeated through its first 12 games of the season, tying the MLS record for longest unbeaten streak to start a season. Dalglish leaves the Utah club after it won the Rocky Mountain Cup for the seventh time in its history, after defeating Colorado Rapids 1-0 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park this past Saturday. RSL is currently second in the Western Conference with a 9-4-9 record and total of 36 points.

"I will be sad to leave the fantastic players and staff that have become friends behind in Salt Lake City," Dalglish said. "They have made me a better coach and a better person. The challenge of leading the Aztex in their inaugural year in the professional ranks was one I couldn't refuse."

Dalglish will return to the Austin Aztex where the former Houston Dynamo forward spent two years as head coach of the USL Premier Development League club, coaching the Texas team to the 2013 USL PDL championship, and earning the 2013 USL PDL Coach of the Year Award. In June, the Austin Aztex were introduced as USL PRO's most recent expansion team and will begin competing in 2015. Dalglish will assume head coach and technical director position at the Austin Aztex immediately.

RSL will return to MLS action this Saturday, when it hosts D.C. United in a 2013 U.S. Open Cup Final rematch at 8:00 p.m. at Rio Tinto Stadium. Tickets to the RSL-D.C. match can be purchased at the Rio Tinto Stadium box office, online at www.RealSaltLake.com/Tickets or over the phone at 801-727-2700.

The California club is currently in its inaugural year with USL PRO, joining the league at the start of 2012. Sacramento Republic FC is currently in fourth-place in the standings with an 11-6-3 record and total of 36 points. The club has found great success in its first year, breaking the USL PRO regular season attendance record just days ago. Sacramento's season attendance of 118,107 crushed the previous record of 112,748 set by Orlando City Soccer Club with five home matches remaining in its regular season. The club is coached by MLS two-time scoring champion and former Chivas USA and Toronto FC head coach, Preki Radosavljeviæ. The club's roster also includes former Real Salt Lake FW Justin Braun.

Real Salt Lake has faced three lower division teams already this year, two of which were USL PRO. The Claret-and-Cobalt was knocked out of the 2014 U.S. Open Cup in its opening match after falling 2-1 at NASL's Atlanta Silverbacks on June 14.
