Real Salt Lake To Be Honored By Utah State Legislature

SANDY, Utah (Wednesday, February 10, 2010) - The first official day of Real Salt Lake's 2010 preseason tomorrow, Thursday, February 11, will start not on the training field, but at the Utah State Capitol, where both the Utah Senate and House of Representatives will honor the Claret-and-Cobalt by reading resolutions congratulating the Utah side for winning MLS Cup 2009 and bringing the first major professional sports title in nearly four decades home to the Beehive State. Eighteen members of the Cup-winning side and the squad's Technical Staff will be on hand for the honors, which will be declared at 10:15 a.m. MT by Senate President Michael Waddoups and 10:30 a.m. by House Representative Jay Seegmiller. For any RSL fans wishing to attend the presentations, gallery seating will be available in both the Senate and House chambers.

Following the recognitions in downtown Salt Lake City tomorrow morning, Real Salt Lake's 2010 preseason roster will convene as a group for the first time for training at Newpark Recreation Center in Park City (1456 Newpark Blvd.) from 1:00-3:00 p.m. MT, with media availability to follow immediately after the session. With the exception of U.S. Men's National Team camp members Kyle Beckerman, Robbie Findley, and Nick Rimando, all RSL players and coaches are expected to be present and available for interviews following tomorrow's session.

Real Salt Lake will hold one last training session in Utah on Friday, Feb. 12, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Spence Eccles Field House (650 Guardsman Way) on the campus of the University of Utah before departing on Saturday for its first training session of the spring, a two-week visit to the Casa Grande Performance Institute at Francisco Grande in Casa Grande, Ariz.
