September 21, 2018 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Real Salt Lake News Release
SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake (13-10-6, 45 pts., 5th West) is back on the road this week to face Atlanta United FC in the club's first visit to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. RSL is unbeaten in the last four matches at 3-0-1 after a draw with Minnesota United last week and will go head-to-head with the current MLS Supporters' Shield leaders in Atlanta. MF Damir Kreilach has five goals in the last three matches, including a goal in his third consecutive match last week, as Salt Lake looks to slow a dynamic attack led by the MLS single-season scoring leader, Atlanta's Josef Martinez who has a record 30 goals this season. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. MT with coverage on KMYU, KSL.com and the KSL TV app.
RSL is fifth in the Western Conference playoff race with five matches remaining on the 2018 schedule. The club has two consecutive road wins, topping the Houston Dynamo 2-1 on August 18 before a 6-0 avalanche over the Colorado Rapids on August 25. Salt Lake is now 4-1-4 in the last nine matches, keeping pace in the West as teams are jockeying for playoff position in the final five weeks of the season.
