Real Salt Lake News Release
SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake MF Albert Rusnák has been called in to the Slovakian National Team for a pair of matches in the 2018 King's Cup in Thailand on March 22 and 25. Slovakia will face United Arab Emirates in the Semifinal Round before facing either Gabon or host Thailand two days later. Rusnák will not miss any MLS matches while away.
"Albert's continued involvement with his national team is a great sign of his growth as a professional. We are proud of what he is accomplishing with this club and the opportunities he is earning through his hard work," RSL General Manager Craig Waibel said.
In his first MLS season, Rusnák finished fourth in the league with 14 assists and added another in the first match of the season in 2018 against FC Dallas.
Rusnák, 23, has eight caps for Slovakia, including his first start in a 3-0 win over Malta in a World Cup Qualifier on October 8.
Real Salt Lake is 0-1-1 (1 point) in the first two matches and will face the New York Red Bulls on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Rio Tinto Stadium. Tickets are available at ksl.com/rsl and by calling 844-REAL-TIX (844-732-5849).
