Real Salt Lake News Release
SANDY, Utah (Friday, August 14, 2009) - Real Salt Lake (7-8-5, 26 pts.) will enter the final third of its 2009 regular season with a chance for back-to-back wins at Rio Tinto Stadium tomorrow, Saturday, August 15, in a pivotal Western Conference showdown against MLS' overall points leader, the Houston Dynamo (11-6-5, 38 pts.). Kickoff, presented by Budweiser, is set for 7:00 p.m. MT, with the nationally-televised broadcast on Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Sports en Español beginning with pre-game coverage at 6:30 p.m. Fans can also follow the game live via RSL's official radio partners - KALL 700 Sports (coverage beginning with the America First Credit Union Pre-Match Report at 6:00 p.m.) and "Ke Buena" 1600-AM.
Tickets for Saturday's contest are still available and can be purchased via the internet at www.RioTintoStadium.com or in person at the Rio Tinto Stadium Box Office or the RSL Team Store, both of which will open at 10:00 a.m. MT on Saturday.
Real Salt Lake nearly pulled out a rare road win when it played away to the Dynamo at Robertson Stadium in their first meeting on June 20. FW Fabian EspÃndola netted what nearly proved to be the lone goal and game-winner in the 28th minute, but the visitors' staunch defensive effort cracked late when Dynamo FW Brian Ching put his head to a floating cross in the 89th minute to equalize the match 1-1. Houston is one of just two opponents that the Claret-and-Cobalt will face three times this season (along with the Colorado Rapids), with the season series set to conclude back in Houston on Sept. 19.
