Real Monarchs News Release
HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Monarchs SLC (12-4-2, 38 points, 1 West) returns from a two-match road trip to welcome Seattle Sounders FC 2 to Zions Bank Stadium on Saturday, July 14th at 8:00 p.m. MT. Interim Head Coach Jamison Olave will look to guide the league-leading Monarchs in an effort to remain undefeated inside its new Herriman home.
Another "As One" Weekend highlights a soccer-filled Saturday on the Wasatch Front with Real Salt Lake's visit to Minnesota United being shown on the GIANT 700 square foot screen inside the Zions Bank Training Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. MT. Fans can take in the RSL match inside the climate controlled indoor facility prior to the Monarchs taking on S2 just steps away in the club's new state-of-the-art stadium. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling 844.REAL.TIX or by visiting RealMonarchs.com.
The Monarchs return to Herriman after a two-match road spell against Reno 1868 FC and Sacramento Republic FC last week where it posted a 0-1-1 record in two hard-fought, physical matches. GK Jake Leeker saved his third penalty of the season in Tuesday's 0-3 loss against Reno before deterring another in the 0-0 draw at Republic FC at the weekend to help the club to its 9th shutout this season.
The Monarchs have faced S2 on one previous occasion this season at Cheney Field in Tacoma, Washington, a match that saw MF Masta Kacher score twice before second half substitute FW Chandler Hoffman added another in the 3-1 victory. S2 currently carries with it a winless record away from Tacoma, owning a 0-5-2 record in seven road matches played in 2018.
