
STLFC Academy Introduces Luis Swisher as Director of Coaching

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Saint Louis FC Academy announced the hiring of Luis Swisher as the new STLFC Academy Director of Coaching and U19 Head Coach. Swisher's first day with the club will be July 16th, at which time, he will immediately begin the process of preparing for the 2018-2019 season.
Swisher joins Saint Louis FC from FC Boulder where he served as the clubs PDL Head Coach as well as a Head Coach in the Development Academy program. Swisher previously served as a scout both for the United Soccer League (USL) and Premier Development League (PDL) as well as a senior-team scout for the Guatemala National Football Federation. Swisher had early stints in the Coaching Youth Development and Academy role at DC United and Regional Development School at New York Red Bulls Academy. He played professionally for 16 years across many first division clubs including seven teams in the Guatemalan National League and also in Europe for Polonia Warszawa in Poland. Swisher is a Guatemalan international with 40 caps across the U19, U21, U23, and senior team levels. He is married to Esmarie and has a seven-year-old son named Daniel.
"Our search for a Director of Coaching and U19 Head Coach was extensive and at the conclusion of that search, Luis was, without a question, our top choice," said STLFC Academy Director. "His experience in various Development Academy environments as well as the senior-level as a coach and in the professional game as a player provide a solid foundation from which he will be able to assist our players in the transition from the Academy into the first-team environment. Luis is a passionate, driven and humble life-long learner who, in addition to holding a USSF A Youth License and serving as a Grassroots Coaching Educator for CONCACAF, is also an MBA with an Engineering degree. His passion for both the game and continuous, ongoing self-improvement will be an asset to our players, our coaching staff and our club."
