
Real Madrid, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and LA Galaxy Join the 2012 World Football Challenge

NEW YORK/LOS ANGELES (Monday, May 7, 2012) - European powerhouses Real Madrid, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), together with Major League Soccer's (MLS) reigning champion LA Galaxy, today announced their participation in the 2012 World Football Challenge. The teams join English clubs Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC, along with MLS sides Seattle Sounders FC and Toronto FC, in the event taking place July 18 through August 11.
UEFA Champions League finalist Chelsea FC and eight-time French Cup winner Paris Saint-Germain of France's Ligue 1 will meet on Sunday, July 22 in the first-ever soccer match at the new Yankee Stadium. Tickets for the match go on sale Monday, May 14.
Chelsea FC will then take on historic Italian club AC Milan on Saturday, July 28 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami. Tickets go on sale Thursday, May 10.
Spain's recently crowned La Liga Champion Real Madrid, led by José Mourinho, Cristiano Ronaldo and Iker Casillas, will visit Southern California to face MLS Cup champion LA Galaxy on Thursday, August 2 at The Home Depot Center. Ticket information will be released at a future date.
One of the largest and most successful soccer exhibitions ever staged in North America, the World Football Challenge brings together many of the world's most accomplished and celebrated soccer clubs to play in major sports venues across the region. The event gives soccer fans the unique opportunity to see global superstars play live and experience first-hand the fast-paced, skillful competition that has made soccer the most popular sport in the world. Now in its third year, the World Football Challenge is hosted in partnership by CAA Sports, a division of Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the world's leading entertainment and sports agency, and Major League Soccer (MLS), the top-flight professional soccer league in the U.S. and Canada. More than half a million fans attended the event last year and sports fans across North America will once again enjoy a summer of top international matches in 2012.
Additional details regarding the World Football Challenge including ticket information, teams, match schedule, event sponsors, and broadcast information will be announced in the coming weeks, and posted on the event's official site, www.WorldFootballChallenge.com.
Details regarding media accreditation for the 2012 World Football Challenge will be announced the first week of June.
