
Reading's Goumas Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Kevin Goumas of the Reading Royals is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for March 7-13.
Goumas scored five goals, added five assists and was a +7 last week helping Reading to a 3-0-0 record.
The 24-year-old had the game-winning goal and two assists in a 5-1 win at Manchester on?Friday, tied the ECHL season-high with six points (3g-3a) in a 7-4 victory over the Monarchs on Saturday and scored the only goal in 1-0 win at Adirondack on Sunday.
Goumas, who was assigned to the Royals by Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League earlier in the week, has recorded 12 points (6g-6a) in five games with Reading this season. He has added 13 points (6g-7a) in 56 games with Lehigh Valley.
A native of Merrick, N.Y.,?Goumas has tallied 34 points (13g-21a) in 132 career American?Hockey League games with Adirondack and Lehigh Valley. Prior to turning pro, he had 146 points (44g-102a) in 146 career games at the University of New Hampshire.
On behalf of Kevin Goumas , a case of pucks will be donated to a Reading youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey , the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more tha3n 3,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
