The Moncton Wildcats tenth annual Reading is Wild program finished up last week with a record breaking 60 402 books read. Reading is Wild was supported by the Moncton Wildcats, RBC and the Times & Transcript.

There were a total of 1 521 students involved from Carrefour de L'Acadie, École Amirault, Arnold H. McLeod and Edith Cavell. This year, the average number of books read per student was 40 books. The average number of books read per student for the 2007 Reading is Wild program was 30 books.

Wildcat players attended rallies at each of the schools involved to share their reading experiences with the students and also returned to some of the schools to read to selected classes. Weekly Wildcats prizing was donated by the Wildcats, RBC and the Times & Transcript.

The school that read the most books per student was Edith Cavell with an average of 69 books per student.
