(Portland, Maine) - Aneury Tavarez's two-run home run off Jesen Therrien (0-1) in the bottom of the seventh was just what Portland (1-0) needed to win their home opener on Friday night as the defeated Reading (0-1) by a score of 4-2.

However, the Fightin Phils wasted no time in getting on the board in the top of the first as they took a 1-0 lead.
