(Erie, Pa) - The Fightin Phils (82-43) earned their third straight win as they beat the Erie SeaWolves (52-74) 5-2 on Saturday night. John Richy (3-3) pitched six quality innings as he gave up just one run to earn his third win with the Fightins.

Mitch Walding hit a RBI single off Erie's Artie Lewicki in the top of the second to give Reading a 1-0 lead. Dylan Cozens scored the run after stealing his 21st base of the season. Erie tied the game as Grayson Greiner hit a sacrifice fly off John Richy. Reading scored three runs off Lewicki in the top of the sixth to extend their lead to 4-1. Rhys Hoskins and Walding each hit RBI singles plus Jake Fox hit a RBI double.

Richy allowed just one run off six hits and two walks with four strikeouts after six innings. Victor Arano entered the game in relief in the bottom of the seventh. Gustavo Nunez hit a solo home run off him in the bottom of the eighth to cut Reading's lead to 4-2. It was his second home run of the season.

Reading got another run in the top of the ninth to take a 5-2 lead. Scott Kingery scored on a fielder's choice by Roman Quinn. Miguel Nunez entered the game in the bottom of the ninth. He got Dominic Ficociello to ground into a game-ending double-play for his 16th save of the season.

The Fightin Phils and SeaWolves will play again at Jerry Uht Park on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is at 1:35 pm. Fans can listen to the game on Sports Radio AM 1240/FM 98.5 and fightins.com beginning at 1:05 pm.
