
Fisher Cats Explode Late in 12-2 Win

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Manchester - Shane Dawson allowed one run over six innings for his ninth win as the Fisher Cats opened a series with Altoona with a 12-2 win on Friday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Dawson (9-4) gave up three hits, walked two, and struck out six batters. Wil Browning pitched an inning in relief with three strikeouts. Alonzo Gonzalez pitched the final two frames for New Hampshire.
The game was tied 1-1 heading to the bottom of the sixth inning. New Hampshire scored 11 runs on 14 hits over their final three at bats, finishing with a seasons-best 17 hits in the win.
Rowdy Tellez broke the tie with an RBI fielders choice, and Ryan Lavaranway, who had homered earlier, drove in another run with a single to make it 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth.
The Fisher Cats (60-65) added three in the seventh, including one on a Jorge Saez homer and six more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning when they sent 12 men to the plate.
Altoona (68-56) opened the scoring in the top of the second inning. Eric Wood doubled, Barrett Barnes singled and Jonathan Schwind hit a sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead. They also plated the game's final run when Edwin Espinal drew a bases loaded walk in the top of the ninth.
Altoona starter Brandon Waddell (7-8) took the loss.
