Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks today announced that the National Lacrosse League club has re-signed forward Curtis Dickson to a two-year contract and defenceman Scott Carnegie to a one-year deal, pending league approval.
Dickson, a native of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, recorded a team-leading 42 goals while adding 20 assists and collecting 50 loose balls in his third season with the Roughnecks last year. The 25-year-old forward, selected by Calgary third overall in the 2010 NLL Entry Draft, has recorded 170 points (106 goals, 64 assists) along with 122 loose balls in 48 career games played. In 2011, Dickson led all rookies in goals at 33 and was named the NLL Rookie of the Year.
Carnegie, who is entering his seventh NLL season, has spent his entire NLL playing career with the Roughnecks. The London, Ontario-native has appeared in 79 games over the past six seasons, recording four goals and 29 points while collecting 301 loose balls over that span. The 27-year-old defenceman was a member of the 2009 NLL championship team and has registered three points (one goal, two assists) and collected 27 loose balls in nine career playoff games.
The Roughnecks third and final weekend of training camp will culminate in Oakville, Ontario today through Sunday, Dec. 15 and includes a pair of pre-season scrimmages. On Saturday, Dec. 14, Calgary will face the Minnesota Swarm at 11:30 a.m. MT at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre, followed by a match-up against the Rochester Knighthawks on Dec. 15 at 9:30 a.m. MT at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena. Both scrimmages are open to the public.
The Roughnecks will trim their 27-man training camp roster to 20 active players and up to four practice players on Monday, Dec. 16.
