Rochester RazorSharks News Release

(Rochester, N.Y.)....The Rochester RazorSharks of the American Basketball Association announced today the signing of James "Mook" Reaves, the 6'8" forward who led the RazorSharks in scoring during their inaugural season. The Rochester native and Edison Tech graduate was named to the 2005-2006 ABA Honorable Mention All-Star Team last year after leading Rochester to a 30-4 overall record and the ABA Championship.

"Mook proved that he was one of the best power forwards in the ABA last year," said RazorSharks Head Coach Rod Baker. "He is a young man who has brought his game to a high professional level and he is a key component at both ends of the floor. Mook has a bright future and we are proud to have him be the anchor in our front court."

The 24 year-old Reaves averaged 18.4 points per game in scoring along with 7.6 rebounds per game in leading the RazorSharks in both categories during the regular season. Reaves played 23 of 30 regular season games and all four playoff victories.

Reaves was the Greater Rochester Area High School Player of the Year in 200 after averaging 25 points per game and 17 rebounds for Edison Tech. He received a full scholarship to Niagara University and was named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team in 2001. Reaves averaged 11.6 points per game his senior season at Niagara.

Before signing with the RazorSharks last October, Reaves played professionally in Germany and in Mexico. He will return to Mexico this Fall to play for two months before the RazorSharks open training camp in mid-October.
