Charity game to be broadcast Saturday

September 5, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Indianapolis, IN. The ABA Knoxville Noise and ABA Chicago Rockstars have added another name to their lengthy list of special guests appearing at the September 9th debut game in Louisville, Kentucky. Robby Kendall, the host of ABA's national radio show has signed on to call the play-by-play for the charity event as well as conduct interviews throughout the game with players, coaches and celebrities.

Kendall is co-host of ABA All Access Radio heard each Saturday at 3pm on AudioSportsOnline (www.abalive.com). "It's incredibly exciting to have been asked to be a part of this historic event. The Knoxville Noise and Chicago Rockstars are two great new ABA teams that begin league play in November. To be able to help them kick off their ABA careers as well as generate money for some worthwhile causes is an honor," said Kendall.

The pre-game show will kick off at 6pm with interviews of team owners Gavin Raiteri and Marques Sullivan. The exhibition will tip off at 7pm. Half time will feature a dunk contest paying out $500 to the winner. Several NBA and NFL celebrities are scheduled to be in attendance as well as veteran actor Fredro Starr, who will judge the dunk contest.

Members of the platinum recording group "Nappy Roots" will serve as the 13th man for each team. All are scheduled to make appearances on the broadcast. "The celebrities giving of their time is what made this event so intriguing to me," Kendall stated. "Not only is there going to be some great basketball, but some very well known entertainment figures on hand as well. It's one of those things in broadcasting you really look forward to being a part of."

The game will take place at Male High School (the Spectrum) located at 911 South Brook Street in Louisville. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Salvation Boys and Girls Club of Louisville. The game can be heard live on the web at www.audiosportsonline.com or www.abalive.com.
