RazorSharks Sign 6'10" Center Lee Cook

February 2, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Rochester RazorSharks News Release

(Rochester, New York)...Rochester RazorSharks announced today the signing of 6'10" center Lee Cook. Cook has practiced with the RazorSharks this week and could suit up for Sunday's game against the Detroit Panthers at The Blue Cross Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:05 p.m.

Cook was in training camp with the Maryland Nighthawks in October this season before signing with the Wilmington Sea Dogs of the ABA. He recently left the Sea Dawgs after playing 17 games with Wilmington. The native of Omaha, Nebraska played two seasons at Alcorn State before finishing his collegiate career at Bowie State, averaging 20.7 points per game and 12 rebounds in his senior season. He was a First Team NCAA Division II All-American that season and played in the Black College All-Star Game.

Cook played for Maryland in the ABA last season, leading the Nighthawks to the Great Eight quarter-finals in Rochester, where he averaged double-figures in points and rebounds.

29 STRAIGHT WINS ON HOME COURT AND COUNTING

The RazorSharks have won 29 straight games on home court at The Blue Cross Arena, setting the Rochester professional basketball record for consecutive home wins - and possibly a Rochester all-time professional sports record. Rochester is 32-2 all-time on home court (12-0 this season) and have a 46-10 (.821) all-time overall record in the ABA. The RazorSharks last lost at home on Thursday, November 24, 2005 - Thanksgiving Night and 438 days ago - to the Niagara DareDevils 116-111.

PANTHERS ON THE PROWL

The Detroit Panthers (12-7) lead the ABA's Midwest Division and have beaten the RazorSharks three times this season in Detroit - the winningest team ever versus Rochester with a 3-1 mark. Only two teams - Detroit and the defunct Niagara DareDevils - have winning records against the RazorSharks in the history of the franchise.
