RazorSharks enter second week of camp looking towards opener

(Rochester, N.Y.)Å The Rochester RazorSharks professional basketball team enter their second week of training camp in downtown Rochester as they look forward to their American Basketball Association home opener against the Buffalo Rapids on Saturday, November 5 at 7:35 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.

Head Coach Rod Baker will narrow the team to 12 players during this week and have them ready to go as professional basketball returns to The Blue Cross Arena. Camp schedule datesÅ

Team & ABA Notes: Former McQuaid HS and Holy Cross college star 7'1" center Scott Martzloff is in camp after being invited from the open tryouts in SeptemberÅ Former East High star and Syracuse University player 6'8" forward Tony Scott was also invited to campÅ The Tacoma Navigators hired former NBA guard (Seattle, Portland, Indiana) Vincent Askew as head coachÅ The ABA will feature three conferences, eight divisions and 47 teams for the 2005-2006 seasonÅ Due to Hurricanes Katrina & Rita, teams from New Orleans, Baton Rouge and other cities in the devastated area will hold off until the 2006-2007 seasonÅ The ABA playoff format will be a single elimination tournament with 32 teams, involving division champions and wild card teams from all eight divisions, beginning in mid-March.
