January 2, 2003 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Corpus Christi IceRays News Release
Corpus Christi- The Corpus Christi Rayz of the Central Hockey League today announce that they have signed defenseman Cam Werfelman to a contract. Werfelman was a free agent after being released from Wichita on 11/29/02.
The 23-year old native of Spokane, WA suited up in 6 games this season for the Thunder finishing with no points and 23 penalty minutes. Werfelman spent part of last season with the Tulsa Oilers recording 5 points and 102 penalty minutes in 23 games.
The Rayz have been skating with just four defensemen the last two games after Brett Colborne received a concussion last Friday in Austin. Werfelman is the Rayz second roster addition in less than a week. Forward Martin Beck signed a contract before last Friday's game and has played in three contests since joining the Rayz.
The Rayz host the Southwest division-leading Odessa Jackalopes at Memorial Coliseum tomorrow night at 7:05PM.
