Rays Promote Three From Within

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC-The South Carolina Stingrays announced the promotions of Steve Fraser to Director of Marketing and Corporate Partnerships, Jon Parkman to Director of Ticket Operations and Chad Pennington to Director of Group Sales today. All three will assume their new positions immediately.

"It is very exciting for this franchise to be able to promote such talented people from within," said Stingrays President Darren Abbott. "All three have tremendous experience in attracting new business, while servicing our present corporate clients and fans alike. We are confident that these three future stars of sports marketing will help the Stingrays to excel in the seats, on the ice and in the community."

Steve Fraser is in his third season with the Rays following two seasons as the Marketing and Game Operations Manager. He has helped implement community relations and internship programs while working on group, season, and corporate sales.

Fraser will now run all aspects of the Stingrays marketing campaign and handle the bulk of the team's corporate advertising sales. He began his career with the Stingrays after receiving a B.S. in Recreation with an emphasis in Tourism Management and concentration in Business from Indiana University.

John Parkman is in his third season with the Rays. He originally joined the staff as a Ticket Sales Manager. A Graduate of the University of Georgia in December 2003, Jon will oversee all aspects of the Stingrays ticket operations, including sales, support, service and communication with the ECHL.

Chad Pennington is in his third season with the Stingrays. He came to the Stingrays as a Ticket Sales Associate after spending time in similar posts for the Nashville Predators and the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL. Pennington will spearhead the Stingrays group ticket sales drive for the upcoming season as well as assist Jon Parkman with overseeing the entire Ticket Sales Department.
