Visalia Rawhide News Release

VISALIA-As the Visalia Rawhide have moved into a brighter future, the club has also taken purposeful steps to uncover and celebrate more of its past, and that effort took another leap forward today as the Rawhide began circulating fan ballots for its first Hall of Fame class.

A member of the California League since the 1940s, Visalia has seen scores of memorable players pass through Recreation Ballpark, and the club will be celebrating its 60th season in 2011. The induction of an inaugural Hall of Fame class will be one of the key focal points of that celebration.

Players and coaches have been selected from the 1940s through the 1980s for Hall of Fame consideration. Alumni from the 1990s and 2000s will be eligible at a later date.

The following is a list of candidates from each era:

1940s & 50s: Pete Beiden, Napoleon Gulley, Al Gionfriddo, Pete Hernandez, Bud Heslet, Bob Moniz, Vada Pinson, and Bob Talbot.

1960s: Jack Aker, Ken Berry, Tim Foli, Bill Landis, John Milner, Ken "Hawk" Harrelson, and Ken Singleton.

1970s: Bob Apodaca, John Castino, Joe Charboneau, Tom Kelly, Lee Mazzilli, and Scott Ullger.
