Rawhide Homestand Preview: May 13-19
May 9, 2014 - California League (CalL1)
Visalia Rawhide News Release
After a brief 3-game road trip, the Rawhide will be back on Tuesday to begin one of their biggest weeklong homestands of the season!
The 7-game stretch begins with a Two-fer Tuesday on May
13th, presented by Chevron/Texaco! Pick up a 2-for-1 voucher at local participating Chevron/Texaco stations, bring it to the ticket window at the ballpark, buy 1 ticket, and get the 2nd free in select areas (subject to availability)! First pitch against the High Desert Mavericks will be at 6:00.
The homestand continues on Wednesday, May 14th with Weenie
Wednesday and another 6:00 first pitch. Get your $1 hot dogs while supplies last!
Those two games will serve as a warm-up, though, for something we're hugely excited about: Ladies Weekend, presented by Tux4You!! (That's right...we used TWO exclamation points!) From Thursday through Sunday, the Rawhide will wear special Tuxedo jerseys! (What in the world does a "Tuxedo jersey" look like, you ask? Well, you'll have to come on out to see it for yourself!)
This 4-day festival of female celebration kicks off with Girls
Night Out on Thursty Thursday, May 15th; besides the usual $1 Miller & Coors Light drafts from 6-8 PM, we'll also have drink specials for ladies, and roughly two dozen booths set up by local businesses that will showcase products designed for women...from salons & spas to make-up and jewelry, ladies will have a great time browsing and socializing! This will be our biggest Girls Night Out ever, so don't miss it! First pitch will be at 7:00.
Then, on Friday, May 16th, we'll have Locks of Love Night, sponsored by Estes Institute of Cosmetology. Fans can volunteer to cut their hair at the game, which will then be donated to Locks of Love, a charity that benefits children undergoing chemotherapy and other hair-loss diseases. Estes Salon will give free cuts and styles to those who donate! After the 7:00 game against the San Jose Giants (SF Giants affiliates), we'll have our first Fireworks show of the season! It promises to be a spectacular night.
The party rolls into Saturday, May 17th with Mommy-Daughter
Date Night! Sign up for the Mommy-Daughter package, which includes 2 Grandstand tickets, a pink baseball, a Rawhide bow, 2 sodas, and a pre-game picture together on the field, all for just $35! It will also be an All-American Saturday presented by Budweiser, with first pitch at 7:00. Retired and active military can purchase a half-priced ticket with their military ID.
Ladies Weekend concludes on Sunday, May 18th with Diamond
Dig, presented by Quality Jewelers, and Belle of the Ballpark! After the 1:00 game against San Jose, ladies and their kids are invited to dig for a diamond from Quality Jewelers, which will be hidden in the field dirt. There'll be several other great buried prizes as well! Meanwhile, during the game, the 4th annual Belle of the Ballpark will be crowned, as young ladies 70 or over from local retirement communities will give brief talent performances and participate in fun contests. And, since it'll be a Family Fun Sunday, Kids Club members can run the bases after the game too!
Finally, the homestand wraps up on Monday, May 19th with another day we're excited about...Character Counts Day, made possible by Will Tiesiera Ford! Character Counts is a terrific partnership between the Rawhide and the Tulare County Office of Education, which sees Rawhide players visit local schools to speak to young students about the importance of character, perseverance, and hard work. On the 19th, approximately 500 students are coming to the ballpark, thanks to Tiesiera Ford's generosity and support! Players and coaches will speak to the kids before the game and create a memorable day for them. And you can join them on this Make a Difference Monday by bringing a school supply (valued at $5 or more) to donate in exchange for a free ticket! First pitch will be at 1:00.
Phew! Did you get all that? Feel free to review, and then get your tickets at RawhideBaseball.com or by calling 732-HIDE! See you here!
