Phoenix, AZ - Bobby Hernreich, co-owner of the NBA's Sacramento Kings, has agreed in principle to purchase the Arizona Rattlers, the Arena Football League team announced today. Hernreich will purchase majority ownership of the 14-year old franchise, with Robert Sarver retaining minority ownership. The sale is pending approval by the Arena Football League's Board of Directors on Thursday, July 7th. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"I am excited about keeping the Rattlers and their rich tradition in Phoenix," said Hernreich. "I have come to love the Valley of the Sun."

The Rattlers will continue to call America West Arena home, as they prepare for their 15th season in the Arena Football League.

"We are all anxious to get started on rebuilding our fan base and corporate base," said Vice President and General Manager Gene Nudo. "We have a solid foundation to grow upon."

Hernreich is currently the president of Remonov Capital Inc., a private investment firm. He also is a member of K2's Board of Directors, along with Phoenix Suns minority owner Dick Heckman.

"We are beginning a new chapter in this club's history," added Hernreich. "We look forward to continuing the success of this organization both on and off the field. I look forward to maintaining the great tradition that the Colangelo's began, and am excited about partnering with Robert Sarver, a good friend and someone who in his short time as a professional sports owner has been unprecedented in his success."
