Gladiators re-sign Konopka

Las Vegas, NV, July 1, 2005 - The Las Vegas Gladiators announced today they have re-signed OL/DL Steve Konopka. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Konopka (6'4", 285, Central Connecticut State), a five-year veteran of the Arena Football League, had another outstanding season in 2005 despite playing in only 12 games with the Gladiators. He was named the team's Lineman of the Year after tallying 16.5 tackles, six tackles for losses, three sacks, three pass breakups and was second in the League with three blocked kicks. On offense, he caught a career-high five receptions for 32 yards with two touchdowns.
Konopka has been with Las Vegas since 2003 and has recorded more tackles for a loss than any other Gladiator in the last three seasons with 15.5.
