MESA, Ariz. - Arizona Rattlers Hall of Fame Head Coach Kevin Guy announced the signing of QB Joe Germaine today.

Guy also announced the signing of another familiar face in OL Steve Mascorro and newcomer OL/AL Alex Gurerrero. The signings bring the Rattlers to a total of 25 players for the 2010 training camp roster.

The Rattlers also announced the launching of the team's new website today. The domain name remains www.azrattlers.com.

Germaine had been one of the Arena Football League's most consistent performers during its final two seasons. As the starting quarterback for the Utah Blaze, Germaine averaged nearly 5,000 passing yards, a 68.1% completion percentage and over 100 passing touchdowns each season. Leading one of the league's most prolific offenses, Germaine led his team to the playoffs each season and was named to the league's Second Team All-Arena squad in 2008. The former Ohio State product and Arizona local also played two seasons for the Rattlers in 2004 and 2005 and for three NFL squads from 1999-2002.

"Joe's a guy that fits into our system," said Guy. "He's been a very productive player for the last few years. We're looking forward to him being a part of the Arizona Rattlers."

Mascorro will be entering his fifth season as a lineman with Arizona. A versatile blocker who can play all three offensive line positions, Mascorro started nine games with the team in 2008, five at guard and four at center. During one stretch, the New Mexico State product was part of a group of blockers who did not allow a sack for three consecutive games.

Guerrero is a defensive lineman by trade who has played in the NFL, NFL Europa and in the arenafootball2. Most recently, Guerrero played for the Boise Burn (af2), and set team records for sacks and tackles for loss and was named First Team All af2. Made the Minnesota Vikings practice squad after completing his college career at Boise State in 2006, and was allocated to the Rhein Fire in NFL Europa's final season in 2007.
