Phoenix, Ariz. - The Arizona Rattlers announced today that they have signed wide receiver Diondre Borel and quarterback Darron Thomas for their inaugural season in the Indoor Football League (IFL).

*Borel (6-0, 195, Utah State)* played in the National Football League (NFL) from 2011-13. He spent his rookie season on Green Bay's practice squad. In 2012, he was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he spent the first several weeks on the practice squad. Shortly after that, he was signed by the Tennessee Titans where he remained for the remainder of 2012 and for the entire 2013 training camp.

Borel attended Utah State University, where he played both wide receiver and quarterback. He was a three-year starter and threw for 6,698 yards and accumulated 8,096 yards of total offense for the Aggies. In 2009, Borel was named as one of the CollegeFootballNews.com WA9C Top 30 Players (No. 10).

The San Jose, California native attended Freedom High School, where he played multiple positions for the Falcons. As quarterback, he threw for 1,492 yards and 15 touchdowns, completing 104-of-181 with just four interceptions. He rushed 137 times for 744 yards and 12 more scores. He was also the team's punter, punt returner and played defense.

*Thomas (6-3, 215, Oregon) *spent two seasons in the Arena Football League (AFL) for the Portland Thunder/Steel, and in 2015 earned the starting spot at quarterback. He also spent time in 2012 with the Canadian Football League's (CFL) Calgary Stampeders.

Thomas attended the University of Oregon where he had earned a record of 24-3 as a starter and led the Ducks to two Pac-12 Championships. In 2011 his team went undefeated in the regular season and made an appearance in the 2011 BCS National Championship Game, and was named as a 2nd Team All-Pac-10 Conference selection.

The Houston, Texas native attended Aldine High School where he was lauded by Rivals.com as the sixth-best player at his position in the country. He was also named a PrepStar All-American in his senior year.
